How To Burn Files (Write To CD/DVD) in Windows 7 (9 Pictures) 1
Windows 7 can burn (write) files to cd or dvd without using any software. To burn files just follow the simple steps below:
1. Open Windows Explorer (Shortcut: Press Windows + E).
2. Select the files and folders you want to burn/write to cd or dvd (Note: Press Ctrl + Mouse Left Button to select multiple files).
3. In the toolbar, press the Burn button.
4. Insert a blank disc or a rewritable disc. Wait until Windows recognizes your cd or dvd.
5. Select how do you want to use the disc. Note: If you have a rewritable disc, select Like a USB flash drive. If you want the disc to be readable on cd/dvd player, select With a CD/DVD player.
6. A new windows explorer will open showing the files and folders you selected and want to burn. Note: If you want to add a file or folder, just drag the file or folder to the newly opened windows explorer.
7. In the toolbar, in the upper left hand corner, press Burn to disc button.
8. A new window will open. Enter the desired title and select the recording speed. I suggest you select 24x or lower for CD and 16x or lower for DVD for safe burning.
9. The next step is to wait. Wait until the Burn to Disc process is finished.
10. Congratulations! You have successfully burned your files to the disc.

Thanks Kuya! This is very useful, i hate installing as much 3rd party software if possible since they slow down the system.
